I was recently approched about making instructional handouts that are more "boy-friendly." I immediately thought of two things: 1. Comics 2. Prezi I think it would be a great feature if you had some templates that allowed teacher users to created comic book style presentations. It would be even BETTER if there would be a way to then print out the entire presentation so that it was contained on a 1-page handout. I think this is definitely possible with Prezi! Let me know what you think.

A free Prezi Quick Guide in iBooks format. Anyone interested?

While learning how to use iBooks Author, I created a Prezi Quick Guide that is in iBooks format. Has brief step-by-step tutorials for structure and styling, with some interactive images at the end. Could be handy as a resource for some people. Working out the open licensing now (likely Creative Commons), wanted to see if any users or instructors could use the guide. Totally free, can be shared with anyone. Also can export to PDF, can be read on nearly all eReaders, but lose the interactive widgets. Anybody interested? Thanks!
Student Folder Grouping

I use Prezi quite a bit to teach my Psychology classes and encourage my students to do a project to create their own Prezi over a psychological disorder. The problem I am running into now is that after they share these Prezi's with me, I have TONS of Prezis made by students and they overlap with my own. I would really love it if I could somehow place these in a different folder seperate from my own personal Prezis. Any chance of this happening in the near future?

Three years ago I was ready to walk away from the teaching profession until my husband introduced me to VUE: Visual Understanding Environment from Tufts University. I begain utilizing it in order to create a "map" of the classroom conversation and discussion, embedding information, images, and videos. Students came alive with the ability to see how all these things were related to each other. Still I became frustrated that all of this work was only being used by myself and a few close teachers. A year later, someone suggested Prezi to me because he was aware of the way I taught. This was the answer to my problems. Because I now had the ability to use it online, and others were able to easily access the work, the way in which I could construct and navigate the interface was expanded. I have used it in multiple ways within the English Language Arts classroom. Described below are a few of the different ways I utilize Prezi. Contextual - Building context about a specific topic for students. This is particularly useful for English Langague Learners, and students who have experienced limited exposure to cultural artifacts and information. Conceptual - Building a big...

Anyone familiar with videos of good, live-audience presentations of Prezi? Moving through actual stand-alone prezis is, of course, very helpful for models. However, examples of Prezi in action, in the actual live and in person presentation atmosphere, would also be extremely helpful as models. This is a good one (found through Prezi U somewhere, if I'm not mistaken), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7nDT_KgPpk but I'd be interested if folks know of others.

This is both a problem I have and a suggestion. I have uploaded a student created prezi on the Cold War, and I think my kids did a pretty good job on it. There are some mistakes, but that's to be expected from students. Now, here is the problem I have. IT'S EATING UP MY MEMORY SPACE ON PREZI!!!! The world is coming to an end, the pigs have flown, the Saints have won the Super Bowl, I hear death knocking on my door.... wait, no that's just our principal wondering why I am on my computer right now. Good thing this is an educational site! But, back on topic: I need the space, but if I delete it from my regular prezi page, won't it also delete the connection to preziU? I like having it out there for others to see, but I NEED my space for new prezi's. The suggestion part of this: When preziU is up and running, we need to make sure there's ALOT of memory space.

Prezi Metaphors: A Way of Thinking about Prezi

When I get started on a new Prezi, I like to try to think of a metaphor for my topic, for example, How Does Your Google Grow? with a garden theme, or It's a Web 2.0 World with a huge earth in the background. In the interest of being a good citizen, Alicia and I have shared this empty Prezi theme, which is merely waiting for your topic. Aarggh matey! It's a pirate themed Prezi with a pirate's treasure map in the background including lots of movable parts for you to use. It was originally made for a Google presentation, but feel free to remove the Google stuff and use it for any purpose. What metaphors have you used or enjoyed? How do you start out thinking through a new Prezi topic? Looking forward to reading your responses!
