I have often admired the designs and layouts of many Prezies. For example the one on the PreziU site (http://prezi.com/gmbjcmpwnyxb/dschool/) has wonderful cartoon drawings that must be .png or/and (?) vector graphics as they do not loose integrity.  In addition they just plain look good!

My question is: What software/program would you all recommend for drawing/creating this type of framework for a Prezi?

Thanks!

Could you retype the link, please? It doesn't work for me.

Not having seen the Prezi you referred to, I can only tell you that I have done cartoon drawings in Prezi using the Draw / Line function. It took some practice, and I learned that you change the line thickness by zooming in and out.

It was frustrating that each time I erased a line in order to draw a better one, I had to select the Draw / Line tool again with multiple steps. There should be a way to set the tool temporarily until you decide to use a different tool.

I prefer to draw with PhotoShop, since it allows many different Save options including *.png and vector graphics, and you can easily balance image resolution and file size for optimal use on the web. I haven't tried to use one as a Prezi framework. But I would think that the final graphic wouldn't be interactive with the Prezi functions; it would just be a static image imported into a Prezi.

Thanks for the ideas, I did take a photo and then photoshop it so that it looks like a drawing which worked fairly well. I am not much of a drawer so I was hoping to find a good way to do this.
Sorry about the link, and of course now I can not find it again. However here is another one that does the same thing with a nice background graphic. http://prezi.com/nsu8izuq8jxs/mathematweets/ and another by the same person: http://prezi.com/6g-on2fkltts/wheres-the-learn-this-button/ (excellent presentation too) In a video where the author mentions having an artist I assume they either drew it digitally or scanned it at very high resolution..

For vector based drawings I use Vectorian Giotto. It's a freeware program that can produce swf files, and I cannot afford a copy of Flash. It is a bit unstable, but it gets the job done. Just backup often.

I have a few examples of the program in my prezis here...
